Growing up, I was always chubby and insecure about my body image. I experimented with fad diets that did more harm than good. I also developed anxiety and was put on medications that made me emotionless.
I did not like the way they made me feel and the thought of all those meds interfering with my body scared me. I was desperate to find a way to get over my anxiety, which left me debilitated at times, but in a natural way.
After some research, I learned that exercise was a great outlet to use to tame anxiety. I started with eating healthier, workout videos in my basement and eventually the gym. My anxiety was better, and my confidence was boosted as I started to notice changes to my body as well. Eventually I met a Fitness Coach named Mike Jackson owner of The Fitness Centerat a fitness competition.
I joined his gym and the rest is history. With his exercise & nutrition expertise, he transformed me from 145 lbs on my 5’3 frame, to a fit 115 lb healthy and confident woman! He then encouraged me to compete and I did and have done so for the past year. I am anxiety free for almost 4 years now, fit and finally comfortable in my own skin. If I can do it anybody can. Hope my story can be an inspiration.
